The exhibition highlights the garden as a space for experimentation that illuminates a series of symbols “Garden Futures” which will host it Vitra Design Museum in Germany. “Gardens reflect identities, dreams and visions.” They are spaces that evoke emotions, stories and myths and are deeply connected to religion, fairy tales and romantic scenarios; but they are also pioneering spaces that mark social and political developments “where concepts of social justice, biodiversity and sustainability can be tested and tested ».

The exhibition “Garden Futures: Designing with Nature”, designed by the Italian studio Formafantasma, seeks to explore the past of these living places and with modern interpretations envisions their future. Among others, artworks by designers, artists and landscape architects such as Alvaro Aalto, Piet Oudolf, Alexandra Kehayoglou and others will be presented, who believe that the power of gardens can bring about radical change. The exhibition uses examples from design, everyday culture and landscape to ask the viewer questions such as ‘Where do today’s garden patterns come from?’ or “Will gardens help us achieve a sustainable future for all?”.
