A police operation was carried out yesterday morning in a Roma settlement, in Diavata, Thessaloniki, as part of the implementation of the operational planning of the General Police Directorate of Thessaloniki for the prevention and suppression of crime.

As stated in a related announcement by the Hellenic Police, a total of 64 people and 48 vehicles were checked, while two people were brought in, of which a 43-year-old woman was arrested for convictions related to the crime of theft.

Police officers from various agencies participated in the targeted operation, while, according to the same announcement, similar actions will continue in the future.

The announcement in detail

In the framework of the implementation of operational planning of the General Police Directorate of Thessaloniki for the prevention and suppression of crime and the consolidation of citizens’ sense of security, yesterday morning (22-03-2023), a targeted police operation was carried out in the settlement of Diavata.

Police officers of the Property Crimes Department of the Thessaloniki Security Directorate, with the assistance of their colleagues from the Crime Prevention and Suppression Department of the same Directorate, the DI.AS Team. of the Direct Action Directorate, the Thessaloniki Police Operations Directorate, the Thessaloniki Traffic Directorate and the Delta Security Department checked in total:

(64) people and (48) vehicles
During the operation:

(2) persons were brought
A 43-year-old local woman was arrested as she had (3) convictions pending against her, according to which she was sentenced to a total prison term of (3) years and (5) months for the crime of theft
(21) violations of the Code of Civil Procedure were confirmed, while the prescribed administrative fines were imposed
Similar actions will continue in the future.
