The gun has been charged to an out-of-county police officer last spring – To this day it has not been located and no one knows how it “went missing”
The loss of a service weapon from the Aegialia Police Department is developing into a “thriller” case, which was searched for, but not located.
The absence of the weapon was noticed about a month and a half ago, during a record check – count of the service’s weaponry. There it was established the existence of a “gap” between those declared and those that exist in a specific area in the building and are supposed to be kept as an “eyeball”.
According to exclusive information of the “Peloponnisos” newspaper, this is a pistol charged to a police officer who was assigned to duty outside the prefecture – last spring.
According to the provisions, before leaving the Aegis Police, he handed it over to his colleague so that it could then be taken to the special guarding point.
Although the EDE on when and under what circumstances and under whose responsibility the service weapon was lost is ongoing, it is not excluded, as sources told “P”, that the pistol is “missing” from May 2022!
To this day, no one knows where he is, much less what has happened.
In fact, as part of the initial investigation, according to information from “P”, there was contact with the police officer who, according to the documents, appears as the owner of the pistol, who, surprised, officially confirmed that before leaving his service, he handed over the weapon to a specific employee.
At the same time, the police officer who allegedly received it appears to claim that he placed it in the storage cupboard – closet – without knowing what happened to it.
