Traffic arrangements in Athens on March 24 and 25 for the student and military parade

ELAS has announced the traffic regulations that will apply inAthens on March 24 and 25 due to its conduct student and military parade, respectively, for the celebration of the National Anniversary of March 25.

In particular, according to the Police, stopping and parking will be gradually prohibited, as well as vehicle traffic, as follows:

Friday 24.03.2023:

• Prohibition of stopping & parking from 06:00 a.m. and gradual stoppage of vehicle traffic from 10:00 a.m. until the end of the student parade on the avenues and streets below:

◦ L. Vas. Amalias, along its entire length in both (2) traffic streams and on their perpendiculars up to the first parallel street.

◦ St. Vas Sofia, in the section between Sekeri Street and St. Amalia, in the traffic flow towards pl. Constitution.

◦ Bas. George I, along its entire length.

◦ El. Venizelou (University), along its entire length and on its diagonals up to the first parallel street.

◦ L. Vas. Olgas, along its entire length in both (2) traffic streams.

◦ Syngrou Street, in the section between Ath. Diakos and Dionysios Areopagitou streets, in the traffic flow towards pl. Constitution.

• Prohibition of stopping & parking and gradual stoppage of vehicular traffic from 06:00 on 24/03/2023 until the end of the Military parade on 25/03/2023 on the streets below and on the right side of them up to the first parallel street:

◦ Achilles, in the section between Pl. Karaiskaki and Thermopylon street in both (2) traffic streams.

◦ Lenorman, along its entire length in both (2) traffic streams.

◦ Zucchini, along its entire length.

◦ Bourvachi, along its entire length.

◦ Petmeza, along its entire length.

◦ Kallirois, in the section between Vouliagmenis Street and Petmeza Street, in the traffic flow from Vouliagmenis Street to Frantzis.

◦ Karolou, along its entire length in both (2) traffic streams.

◦ Marne, along its entire length in both (2) traffic streams.

◦ Anth/gou St. Reguku, along its entire length in both (2) traffic streams.

• Prohibition of stopping & parking and gradual stoppage of vehicular traffic from 12:00 on 24/03/2023 until 19:30 on 25/03/2023 on the unnamed road leading from Lycabettus Ring Road to Lycabettus Hill.

B. Saturday 25/03/2023:

• Prohibition of stopping & parking and gradual stoppage of vehicular traffic from 06:00 until the end of the Military parade on the avenues and streets below and on the perpendicular ones up to the first parallel street:

◦ Vass. Sofias Avenue, in the section between Vass. Kon/nos and Vass. Amalia Avenues and in both (2) traffic streams.

◦ Date Atticus, along its entire length.

◦ Bas. George II, along its entire length.

◦ Bas. George I, along its entire length.

◦ L. Vas. Amalia, along its entire length in both (2) traffic streams.

◦ El. Venizelou (University), along its entire length.

◦ Pl. Omonia.

◦ Piraeus, in the section between Pl. Omonia and Ieras Odos in both (2) traffic streams.

◦ Athena, along its entire length in both (2) traffic streams.

◦ St. Konstantinou, along its entire length.

◦ Pl. Karaiskakis.

◦ October 28th (Patision), in the section between El. Venizelos (University) and Alexandra Street in both (2) traffic streams.

◦ Th. Diligiannis, in the section between Pl. Karaiskakis and I. Metaxa Street in both (2) traffic streams.

◦ Pl. Constitution.

◦ Philhellenic, along its entire length.

◦ Stadium, along its entire length.

◦ L. Sygrou, in the section between Am. Frantzis and Dionysiou Areopagitou in both (2) traffic streams.

◦ Academy, along its entire length.

◦ Ath. Diakou, along its entire length in both (2) traffic streams.

• Prohibition of standing & parking and gradual stoppage of vehicle traffic from 06:00 until the end of the events at the Holy Metropolitan Church of Athens, as follows:

◦ Metropolis, along its entire length and on its diagonals up to the first parallel street.

◦ Aeolou, in the section between Ermou and Hadrianou streets, as well as on its perpendiculars up to the first parallel street.

◦ Ermou, in the section between Pl. Asomatos and Aiolou street.

Also, according to ELAS during the above periods of time modifications will be made to the Public Transport routes.

Finally, the Police appeals to drivers for better service and to avoid additional traffic problems, to avoid crossing and parking their vehicles on the above streets, boulevards and squares during the mentioned time intervals and to follow the signals and instructions of the regulators traffic police.
