The developments in the case of the rape of female athletes by the taekwondo coach in Ilioupoli are dramatic.

According to information transmitted by Theodosis Panou on the program Proino Mas with Fai Skorda, the authorities, specifically the Juvenile Department, had the coach under surveillance since January, i.e. immediately after the complaints from the gymnasts who have now reached adulthood.

In fact, in the next few days, 4 minor girls who trained with the accused until recently are expected to come to testify before specialist child psychologists.

During surveillance, the police officers saw the coach being closer to these children, which is why they are asked to testify, after consultation with their parents.

In addition, the authorities are combing through the two mobile phones and the laptop they seized from the accused looking for old videos that have been deleted.

Later today, the 44-year-old defendant will cross the threshold of the 14th Regular Investigator, in order to apologize for sexual violence against five minors, at the time of the acts, girls who reported him last January.

The defendant, the father of a minor boy, is called upon to refute serious accusations brought against him after what his now-adult former athletes testified about the horror they experienced without each of them even knowing at the time that they were not his only victim “teacher”.

According to the case file filed against the coach, his actions against underage girls appear to have started at least in 2009 and, in the case of the five complainants, to last until 2020.

The 44-year-old is facing charges of serial rape, indecent abuse of minors, breach of personal data and drug supply and possession.

In their accounts, the five complainants seem to have described a common practice applied by the coach in order to win the trust of his victims who were then not only abused physically but also mentally as the accused used psychological violence to “shut up”.
