The increase of hospital admissions will continue, while after January 10-12, intubation will begin to increase slowly, said pulmonology professor Nikos Tzanakis, speaking on SKAI TV and the show “Simera”.

The professor said that in the previous ten days the average number of hospital admissions was around 316, now they have increased a lot and yesterday, Wednesday, a record was set with 626 tickets after a very long time.

The models of Mr. Tzanakis’s team “show” the peak of the pandemic wave of Omicron around January 19-22 with an average mobile at 55,000 daily cases “which means that we will see peaks of larger numbers”.

More than 85% of patients and intubated patients are unvaccinated, with the professor stressing that the third dose of the vaccine has dealt a new blow to the pandemic.

For the schools he stated that his own opinion was that they should not be opened however given the decision of the committee everyone should apply the protection measures and the protocols. Especially for the protocols, he mentioned that many times they are multifaceted and can tire the citizens.
