He submitted his resignation from the position of Mayor of Iasmos today to the Decentralized Administration of Macedonia – Thrace Oder Moomin.
The outgoing Mayor had previously stirred up a storm of reactions due to his decisions to recall Deputy Mayors and dismiss municipal employees of the Municipality of Iasmos, whom he accused of participating in criminal organizations, including FETO.
The above decisions caused the intervention of the Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications Makis Voridis, who asked the General Secretary of the Decentralized Administration of Macedonia – Thrace to investigate any illegal actions of the Mayor of Iasmos, in order to evaluate them as a whole and to decide on the necessary further actions to deal with the specific issue.
Recently, Oder Mumin has been absent from his duties and the meetings of the municipal council, while there are rumors in the political circles that he is not going to stand again in the municipal elections next October.
In the communication we had with him, he simply confirmed his resignation, without however wanting to make any other comment.
