A memorial service for the 57 victims of Tempe, at the site of the train accident, will be held by the Holy Diocese of Larissa and Tyrnavos, on Sunday, 40 days after the tragic event.
The trisagio will be celebrated by the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Larissa and Tyrnavos Mr. Hieronymos.
In a statement, the Diocese of Larissa and Tyrnavos points out:
“On Sunday, April 9, 2023, forty days will be completed since the tragic railway accident in the area of ​​Tempe, which resulted in the loss of the lives of many of our fellow human beings.
The Holy Diocese of Larissa and Tyrnavos, participating in the mourning that has shocked the whole world, will hold a memorial service at the site of the accident on Sunday at 12:30 noon for the repose of the souls of our brothers who fell asleep violently.
The trisagio will be celebrated by the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Larissa and Tyrnavos, Mr. Ieronymos, as the representative of His Beatitude the Archbishop of Athens and all Greece, Mr. Jerome and the Permanent Holy Synod, with the participation of the clergy of the Metropolis.
