The further expansion of the network of Model and Experimental Schools throughout the country from the 2024-2025 school year, announces the Ministry of Education and Religion, responding on the one hand to the widespread acceptance of the institution by students, parents and guardians, and on the other hand to the commitment to a comprehensive upgrade of the public school.

Thus, out of 62 Model and Pilot schools in 2019, they reached 120 in 2022 and from the following year, in accordance with the current institutional framework and relevant jurisprudence, an additional 18 new schools are addedwhich will operate under their new regime from September 2024.

It is recalled that the Model Schools are school units of secondary public education, which aim to cultivate and spread the idea and practices of excellence in the education system, as well as to highlight and encourage students with talents and special learning abilities, which are introduced through examinations .

Experimental Schools are primary and secondary public education units, which aim to support experimentation and the pilot application of educational innovations in the education system, in a random sample of the student population, entered into them by electronic lottery. In addition, the aim is to familiarize undergraduate and postgraduate students with the teaching of the individual subjects, in collaboration with A.E.I. departments and schools. and the I.E.P..
