The official trailer of the highly anticipated film has been released “Barbie” from Warner Bros., starring Margot Robbie as the famous doll and Ryan Gosling as her partner, Ken.

The first trailer for the film had officially introduced the world to Robbie’s Barbie, but didn’t reveal much about the characters or the story. It was then revealed that Barbie and Ken were placed in the real world and forced to struggle with its difficulties.

It is directed by Greta Gerwig and co-written by her husband, Noah Bauback.

The American director said she was a little apprehensive and slightly terrified when taking on the highly anticipated project, saying, “That feeling I had was that I knew it was going to be really interesting horror. That’s usually where the best stuff is. It’s something where you think, ‘This could ruin your career,’ and then you’re like, ‘Okay, I should probably do it.'”

A star-studded cast includes Will Ferrell, Connor Swindells, Simu Liu, Emerald Fennell, Kate McKinnon and Issa Rae.

As Variety reports, “Barbie” is a co-production of Mattel Films, Heyday Films and LuckyChap Entertainment. It is expected to open in theaters on July 21.
