Their opposition to his involvement in his party Ilias Kasidiaris the brothers of the vice-prosecutor of the Supreme Court Anastasios Kanellopoulos express in a joint statement.

The announcement reads as follows:

For everyone’s information, in relation to the selection of our brother, Anastasios Kanellopoulos, which is the subject of journalistic commentary, we would like to inform you of the following:

Our democratic beliefs, our beliefs and our long, positive and beneficial path in society, it is known to everyone who knows our publicly expressed positions and opinions, that they have nothing to do with the recent political initiatives and choices of the brother us.

From the first moment we were indirectly informed of his thoughts and choices to be politically active in the manner mentioned in the recent publications, we directly communicated our objections to him in the hope of dissuading him. When these choices of his were made public, being the subject of journalistic information, we expressed again, in every possible way, our complete opposition.

However, given the extent that the relevant publications have already received, and in order not to create false impressions, either by mistake or consciously, that we identify with choices that are contrary to our democratic beliefs, we owe it to our presence, to clarify the our position publicly to this end, reiterating that we have nothing to do with options that meet our express disagreement.
The fraternal relationship does not allow political identifications, nor does it justify corresponding judgments and reasoning.
