Unthinkable situations unfolded in a restaurant in Thessaloniki, when employer threatened former employees who were asking for the accruals, while he did not hesitate to grab by the neck a representative of the Trade Union who went to the company as a sign of support.

According to information, three former employees of the company – two girls and a young man – in the presence of members from the Board of Directors. of the Trade Union of Tourist and Catering Business Employees (SETEPE) they asked their employer to pay the amount of money he owes them, a total of almost 2,000 euros.

According with the complaint, one of the employers responded with unprecedented aggression and even went so far as to grab a member of the SETEPE administration by the throat and drag him into the corner, who earlier stepped in the middle to stop him. However, the employer did not stop there either, as he verbally threatened the former employees of the business, throwing out phrases such as: “You will see what will happen, you will die, you will die.”

The president of SETEPE, Giorgos Branikas emphasized that this is not an isolated incident, on the contrary, he spoke of a daily phenomenon. “It is a double violence that we accept in Food: On the one hand we see intensification of insecure work, the fear of dismissal and low daily wages and on the other hand there are cases of our colleagues even eating wood from employers for any reason, either because they will go down to the strike, or because they will ask for the obvious”, he said characteristically.
