“New lower prices at “Household Basket” in all chains from today. Competition works in favor of consumers, as much as some may cry. I am proud that with our policy we finally achieved lower prices than in 2019!”.

This is what the Minister of Development and Investments says in a post on social media.Adonis Georgiades.

Also, in another post, the minister comments on the course of inflation as follows:

“Further dip in inflation to 4.6% (yearly) in March 2023 from 6.1% in February. This is the lowest performance in 18 months, since October 2021.

A decrease of -0.5% also in food, a sector in which we focus our efforts with the Easter Basket, the market pass and the strict market controls.

Despite the skepticism, our initiatives are bearing fruit – the numbers are an irrefutable witness.

Our commitment to continue to support with all our strength the Greek people, who are under pressure – as is the case in all EU countries – from imported inflation”.
