The control of the “Kalatrava” metal structures in the complex of the Athens Olympic Sports Center (OAKA) is in full progress following a relevant tender conducted by the Project Preparation Facility of the Fund on behalf of the Deputy Ministry of Sports and the OAKA.

The subject of the tender referred to inspection and control services of metal constructions and polycarbonate covering sheets of the following constructions of OAKA:

  • The roof of the Central Stadium.
  • The roof of the Cycle Track.
  • Of the two entrances.
  • Of the Wall of Nations
  • Of the market.

The purpose of the inspection, which is carried out by specialized technical crews, is to identify any problems that may be indicative of corrosion, paint peeling, welding problems, screwing problems, hangers, etc. in elements of the metal constructions that need to be addressed, maintenance and restoration, as well as problems in the polycarbonate sheets, their support bases and their sealing and sealing materials.

The inspection will also highlight, on the one hand, any required studies that will be implemented in the context of this contract and, on the other hand, the maintenance, repair and replacement actions that should be carried out, in the context of the relevant implementation contract that will follow.
