Attempting to mislead the Joint Jury hearing the case for his murder Alki Kampanou the district attorney Kyriaki Kliaba charged the medical examiner Dimitris Galenderis, who has been testifying since the morning as a defense witness.

The occasion was a photograph presented by the medical examiner, technical advisor to two of the defendants, and included in his forensic opinion. The witness, in his testimony, claimed that the wounds on Alki’s head did not cause the death of the 19-year-old, stating that they came from arms and legs, otherwise they should be associated with bruises.

In order to document his scientific point of view, he used in his technical report, a photo from an international scientific journal, claiming that it depicts a skull with trauma from thlon organ (rod). However, as the prosecutor observed, referring to the specific document, it is a trauma attributed to nysson and cutting instrumentand specifically in choppers.

For this reason, the public prosecutor’s office requested as soon as the trial was completed that its minutes be forwarded to the Prosecutor’s Office of First Instance in order to conduct an investigation and establish whether the offenses of false testimony and false expert testimony against the medical examiner are substantiated.
