A foreigner was arrested on the afternoon of Holy Saturday at the Kipon border crossing point in Evros, because he was spotted transporting in a vehicle. car, approximately 27 kilograms of raw and processed cannabis.

The arrest took place in the context of special actions to combat the spread of drugs, carried out by police officers of the Alexandroupolis Security sub-directorate in collaboration with employees of the Gardens customs office and the assistance of police officers from the Garden Passport Control Department of the Alexandroupolis Police Department.

In particular, during a check on an I.X.E car, which arrived at the Kipi border crossing point to exit our country, it was found that the driver was carrying quantities of processed and raw cannabis.

Specifically, during the investigation carried out with the assistance of Laika, the police drug detection dog, a specially designed cache was found in the lower part of the vehicle, which contained 27 nylon packages with raw cannabis with a total weight of 25,220 grams and 2 nylon packages with processed cannabis ( chocolate), with a total weight of 1,325 grams.

Among other things, the drugs, the vehicle, sums of money, two navigation devices and mobile phones were seized. The arrested person will be taken to the criminal prosecutor, while the preliminary investigation was conducted by the Alexandroupolis Security sub-directorate.
