Ultimatum to 23 families refusing to send their children to school in Crete

Although the Omicron wave has sent coronavirus outbreaks and the National Health System remains under pressure, some insist on a hard unscientific line.

Characteristic are what is happening in Heraklion, Crete, where 23 families with negative parents insist on not sending their children to school, causing the intervention of justice.

The families received an ultimatum to change their attitude, as if they do not comply and continue to leave their children out of school, the prosecutor will intervene.

These are 16 families that did not send their children to primary school and 7 more with children in kindergarten. Some of the parents had not even sent their children to school last year.

The head of the Primary Education Directorate of Heraklion, Manolis Beledakis, told SKAI that the details of these families will be communicated to the Prosecutor in order to follow up on further actions.

“In the thoughts of the Prosecutor’s Office is that in some of these cases it will send the social services of the Prosecutor’s Office to visit these parents and their homes,” he said characteristically.
