Today, Sunday, January 9, 2022, in the morning, a resident of the village of Pserimos, leaving his house, was surprised to see a young couple with a small child in their arms, parked outside.
As he was told, they are Turkish nationals and are being persecuted by the Erdogan government for their political views and they came to Greece to seek political asylum.
In accordance with kalymnos-news.gr, the Turkish couple with a 2-year-old girl, disembarked in Marathon bay, by a speedboat that transported them from the opposite shores and left them in Pserimos. Then they arrived on foot in the settlement of Pserimos, at the time of heavy rain on the island and found shelter in the car that was outside the house.
The resident of Pserimos, as soon as he located them, hosted them at his residence and then, after informing the Port Authority, took them by boat and transported them to Kalymnos, where they are being held, in order to file a case for illegal entry into the country. According to the same information, the Turkish couple will seek political asylum, as the woman is a lawyer and the man is a police officer.
