PPC participates for the third consecutive year in “World Earth Day”, on April 22, electrifying 4,300,000 households for 24 hours, with energy reserved exclusively from Renewable Energy Sources.

Specifically, PPC guarantees that as much energy as is consumed on April 22 will be captured by PPC’s certified RES by making the GreenPass service available free of charge to all residential consumers. In this way, carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from domestic use will be reduced by 13,000 tons in just one day.

According to the data provided by the company, PPC reduced the direct CO2 emissions of thermal power plants by 36% in 2022, compared to 2019, and increased the number of RES stations connected to the network by 132%, compared to 2020. , while 94% of all the electricity it produced came from units with certified environmental management systems.

In the field of electric mobility, as recently announced, PPC blue, the largest charger network in Greece, has already exceeded 1,500 publicly accessible charging points nationwide with the goal of 10,000 by 2027.

The director of Corporate Relations and Communication of PPC, Sofia Dimtsa, said:

“At PPC Group we fully understand our responsibility towards our customers, our country and our planet. And we undertake it. We invest strongly in renewable energy generation, dramatically reduce CO2 emissions from our operation, modernize our networks, reward consumption reduction, facilitate electrification, educate consumers on green choices and support actions that promote an energy-sustainable lifestyle.
