Roma gangs, beatings of “good guys” in entertainment establishments, attacks on the elderly, beatings of minors even in public view, robberies of the helpless, arson of restaurants and vehicles, warning “fires” for extortion, somewhere the situation is getting out of hand!

In a club in the center of Patras, in just a few weeks, there have been four incidents, including a stabbing, with paid “bravos” sitting at the door and hitting people for “flea jumping”, but no one intervenes.

Yesterday, early in the morning, Sunday 23/04/2023, they beat military personnel, who were having fun, had drunk a little too much, the “bloods ignited” and instead of calling ELAS to settle whatever problem there was, the “bravos” were called.

Punches, kicks and whoever the “Grace” takes

The Police went to the scene, but the military regulars, who had already treated them… “of salt”, did not want to continue, apparently fearing what would follow in their Service.

This is the same store where a student was beaten up, who, however, filed a lawsuit, but the “inflatable” who beat him turned out to be a “hare”.

The same “good guys” had also beaten a person who had connected his name to the night, and had taken him out of the store in question, while there had been a beating inside it, after the doors had been closed first.

ELAS, while aware of all the episodes, for “an unknown reason” is not involved!

The attacks in 12 years

At the same time, gangs of Roma minors, who “descend” from the Refugee District of Patras and the wider area in Georgiou Square, the pier of Agios Nikolaos and Psilalonia, have become the fear and terror of everyone!

They attack minors with the intention of taking their mobile phone or the “small” they have on them. A few days ago, in Psilalonia, five people “crowded” a 12-year-old boy who was wearing gloves, because he was playing football as a goalkeeper, and grabbed them! In another case, the fashionable jacket he was wearing had been taken from a minor!

They “fell” her to an old man

Last Friday night, a gang of Roma minors in Prosfygika attacked a pensioner, as “Peloponnisos” wrote yesterday. It all happened when the old man went to the street in his neighborhood to buy oranges. After the purchase he was returning to his car and he was surrounded by 7-8 young people, 15 years old according to him. A

they beat him and tore his clothes, took all the money he had in his pants, and only when they heard a woman in the distance shouting that the Police were coming, did they become smoke. All this during the day, at a busy point due to the operation of Laiki. They surrounded him and beat him mercilessly for 5 minutes. In the same district, many citizens hesitate to move around after dark. Almost the same scene, with a group of Roma who “frequent” the area of Evias Street, near Zarouhleika.

“Gangsters” in schools

The so-called “gangsters” – because that’s what they call groups of minors in Patras who pretend to be “guys” on their walks – walk around and “look” for trouble. As happened in the case of the 16-year-old at the bottom of Georgiou Square, who – as the “Peloponnisos” newspaper also wrote – was attacked by ten of his peers, who first threw a bottle at his feet and when he reacted, they slapped him against the wood ! Police officers with motorcycles found the child lying on the ground, having received punches in the face and other parts of his body.

They are looking for “sluts”

On Friday night, five young people, with a speaker “on hand” from which trap music could be heard, spat on passing cars in the area of Ypsile Alonia, with the obvious aim of causing an incident!

The “unknown” arsons

At the same time, all the arsons in shops in Patras remain unsolved, except for the one that took place 2 years ago in Abbey, in Psilalonia. No one knows what has happened and who terrorized the restaurant and leisure shopkeepers with gas canisters or flammable material. Of course, most people consider “protection” as the main way out, but even those who don’t and fall victim to blackmail or threats, don’t speak up. They prefer “omerta” to losing all their business!

However, it is a fact that in the “night” in general a certain “balance” is maintained. A young “bully”, who had caused some incidents, has now left the city, while the groups that provide protection seem to have “found” each other.
