A decrease of 5,156,987 sheets or 14.1% was recorded last year, compared to 2021, in the total sales of newspapers, as well as in all individual categories, with the exception of weekly sports which saw an increase of 5.7%.

A total of 31,421,739 sheets were sold and there was a decrease of 15.3% in political newspapers, by 12.5% ​​in economic, by 6.8% in politics and by 35.7% in other newspapers (religious, etc.).

While, in the corresponding comparison of 2021 with 2020, there was a decrease of 4.1% in the total sales of newspapers.

At the same time, also according to ELSTAT, last year there was a decrease of 3,654,708 issues or by 18.9% in the total sales of magazines, as well as in all individual categories of magazines.

A total of 15,640,590 issues were sold and as far as the categories with the largest volume of sales are concerned, the most important decreases are observed in the sales of television magazines and other magazines, by 11.1% and 22.5% respectively.

While, in the corresponding comparison of 2021 with 2020, there was a 3% increase in total magazine sales.
