In view of the holding of the parliamentary elections on May 21, 2023, by circular of the Minister of Justice Constantinos Tsiaras, the work of the country’s courts and the process of conducting auctions are suspended from May 17, 2023 until May 24, 2023.
More specifically, during this period, the work of the courts is suspended as follows:
In the civil-criminal courts of Athens and Thessaloniki, the suspension of work starts on May 17, 2023 and extends until May 26, 2023.
Criminal trials that begin in court before the date the suspension begins and do not end on the same day are continued after the date the suspension ends.
Exempted from the suspension is the case of trial of felonies in cases where the maximum limit of temporary detention of the accused expires.
The questions of the operation of the courts for the spontaneous procedure and the procedure of interim measures will be regulated by decisions of the administrations of the relevant courts.
Furthermore, the process of conducting auctions is suspended during the above time periods, while the operation of salaried mortgage portfolios is suspended for May 19 and 22, 2023.
