Inspections begin in the playground of Ancient Olympia and in all the playgrounds of the Municipality
All playgrounds will remain closed until further notice Ancient Olympia after the 5-year-old girl’s accident, as announced by the Mayor Giorgos Georgiopoulos, as inspections begin at the playground of Ancient Olympia and at all the playgrounds of the Municipality.
Regarding the accident at the playground of Ancient Olympia, Mr. Georgiopoulos made the following statement:
“First of all I want to wish the parents the best and a speedy recovery for their little girl. Both I and my colleagues are in constant communication with the father and we hope that this adventure will end soon.
The accident happened in the area where the old playground was installed, from which we had removed all the old and dangerous instruments and installed new ones, in a side area, with the specifications, standards and certificates of ELOT. From Monday morning, our Technical Service starts checking the playground of Ancient Olympia and all the playgrounds of the Municipality in order to identify possible damages that could cause accidents. Until the completion of the inspection, all playgrounds of the Municipality will remain closed”.
