Two men, 35 and 34 years old, were arrested in the context of the car chase, today (8/5) at dawn in Kallithea, by police officers of the DI.AS. Group, for robbery with complicity, disobedience and violation of weapons legislation.
In particular, police officers of the DI.AS Team. who were on patrol in Kallithea decided to check a machine with two riders that they considered suspicious.
In sight of the officers, the rider of the bike sped off to avoid control, with the officers following, until the bike came to a stop, the riders abandoned the motorcycle and a foot chase ensued.
During their escape, the two men threw away a replica pistol, two helmets and a purse with the sum of 70 euros and tried to escape.
After searches, the 35-year-old man was found hiding in a construction material waste bin and a little later, the 34-year-old man was found walking on foot in the area of ​​Kallithea, they were stopped and arrested.
Subsequently, the two persons were transferred to the Athens Security Sub-Directorate, where from the preliminary investigation carried out, it emerged that shortly before their arrest, they had committed a robbery at a petrol station in the area of ​​Kolonos.
Specifically, using physical violence, they immobilized the employee and removed a folder containing the sum of 4,000 euros and a purse-coin case.
They then locked the employee in a gas station office and escaped on a motorcycle. In the possession of the defendants and in a search carried out in their homes, the following were found and confiscated: a replica type pistol, a purse – coin case containing 75 euros, 2 motorcycle helmets, a “full face” hood, a cap, a waterproof jacket, a pair of gloves, a mobile phone.
Also confiscated was the motorcycle that the perpetrators abandoned during their escape, which they had removed days ago from the Petraloni area.
Those arrested will be taken to the Athens District Attorney.
