The electronic platform of the program was launched today, Thursday “Recycle – Change Water Heater” (https://allazothermosifona.gov.gr/), whose budget amounts to to 100 million euros through NSRF 2014 – 2020 and will remain open until Tuesday 20 June 2023 at 15:00.

The platform opens gradually for beneficiaries, depending on the last digit of the VAT number. Today, Thursday, it opened for VAT numbers ending in digits 1 and 2.

  • 12/5 : VAT numbers ending in 1,2,3,4
  • 13/5 : VAT numbers ending in 1,2,3,4,5,6
  • 14/5 : VAT numbers ending in 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8
  • 15/5 : VAT numbers ending in 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,0

Through the new Program, at least 120,000 Greek households, which will benefit directly, will be able to receive a subsidy for the replacement of energy-consuming electric water heaters with new solar water heaters, of modern technology. The benefit for them and for the environment will be the reduction of at least 200 thousand tons of CO2 per year.

As it is also calculated, that the electricity consumption for the use of hot water is to be reduced by approximately 65%.

In order to receive the subsidy for the purchase of a new solar water heater, it is mandatory to withdraw for recycling the old water heaters that are being replaced, the characteristics of which are:

  • To be functional before their withdrawal.
  • Before their replacement, they must be placed in the residence declared in the financing application.
  • To be electric water heaters with a capacity of ≥ 40 litres.

In order to join the program, the beneficiaries must:

  • To be domestic consumers who will have an electric water heater installed in their residence (and not in a business place).
  • Applications must be submitted by individual natural persons, who were born before January 1, 2006 and reside permanently in Greece.
  • Only one application should be submitted by each natural person.
  • The average annual income per family member of eligible beneficiaries should not exceed 30,000 euros.
  • The potential beneficiaries have not submitted an application or have joined another energy saving program, such as “Execonomou – Autonomou” or “Execonomou 2021”.

Ranking criteria

The final selection of beneficiaries will result from a combination of economic and social criteria:

  • Average annual income per family member.
  • Families with disabled members.
  • Single-parent families, with at least one dependent child.
  • Families with dependent members.

Reinforcement height

The subsidy is up to 60% of the purchase cost of each new solar water heater.

Each beneficiary will receive a voucher, which they can redeem at a supplier of their choice.

Installation costs are also included in the maximum grant amount for the beneficiaries.

The final value of each check depends on the characteristics of the solar water heater (hot water tank capacity), its purchase price and is determined as follows:

Ο Υπουργός Περιβάλλοντος και Ενέργειας, Κώστας Σκρέκας, δήλωσε σχετικά: «Ένα ακόμα πρωτοπόρο πρόγραμμα ενεργειακής εξοικονόμησης, που στηρίζει την ελληνική οικογένεια, τίθεται σε λειτουργία από την κυβέρνηση του Κυριάκου Μητσοτάκη. Με την αντικατάσταση του ηλεκτρικού θερμοσίφωνα, μιας από τις πιο ενεργοβόρες οικιακές συσκευές, με έναν σύγχρονο, αποδοτικό ηλιακό θερμοσίφωνα, πετυχαίνουμε μείωση του λογαριασμού ρεύματος των νοικοκυριών, στηρίζουμε την ακμάζουσα ελληνική βιομηχανία παραγωγής ηλιακών θερμοσιφώνων και μειώνουμε σημαντικά τις εκπομπές αερίων του θερμοκηπίου. Συνεπείς στις δεσμεύσεις μας, συνεχίζουμε τις πολιτικές που προστατεύουν εμπράκτως το Περιβάλλον, αλλά και στηρίζουν τους Έλληνες απέναντι στην ενεργειακή κρίση».

Ο Υφυπουργός Ανάπτυξης και Επενδύσεων, Γιάννης Τσακίρης, έκανε την ακόλουθη δήλωση: «Το πρόγραμμα «Αλλάζω Θερμοσίφωνα» έρχεται ως συνέχεια των προγραμμάτων «Εξοικονομώ-Αυτονομώ» αλλά και «Ανακυκλώνω-Αλλάζω Συσκευή» που ήδη τρέχουν και χρηματοδοτούνται μέσω κοινοτικών πόρων του ΕΣΠΑ και στοχεύουν σε μια πιο πράσινη και ανθεκτική Ελλάδα εναρμονισμένη στους ευρωπαϊκούς στόχους. Στο πλαίσιο αυτό αναμένεται τα επόμενα 5 χρόνια να διατεθεί σημαντικό μερίδιο των πόρων του νέου ΕΣΠΑ 2021-2027 της τάξης των 3,6 δισ € στο Πρόγραμμα για το Περιβάλλον με στόχο η χώρα μας την επόμενη 10ετια να μετατραπεί στον πράσινο πρωταθλητή της Ευρώπης».
