An unexpected moment was experienced by the passengers of the last one flight from Athens – Heraklion on the evening of May 10 when the aircraft landed at “Nikos Kazantzakis” according to neakriti.gr.

At the time of taxiing, the captain “raised” the plane again, informing the passengers as follows: “I apologize, but just we succeeded not to kill one hare». Of course the hare in the end was apparently killed by a car trying to run him off the track. According to information, during the taxiing of the aircraft, a hare appeared on the runway.

The pilot, in order not to kill him, chose to lift the aircraft again. There was some commotion in the cabin but the reason the passengers found out this happened probably cheered them up after a few seconds of shock. The captain had to make another lap over Heraklion before the final taxi in order for ground crews to remove the hare that had already been killed from the airport taxi for flight safety. The landing was absolutely smooth and safe, however the matter is being discussed today in the whole of Heraklion.
