Circuit who manufactured and sold anabolic steroids for nine years was busted by the police.

Specifically as it emerged from research, carried out in cooperation with Europol, the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and the National Anti-Doping Agency, the gang from at least 2013 until 2022, was active in the manufacture and supply of prohibited anabolic substances to athletes, professional and non-professional, with in order to improve their athletic performance.

From the Directorate of Economic Police, the action was confirmed criminal organization – gangwhose members were active in the manufacture and sale of anabolic substances.

For the case a case file was filed against two nationals for – as the case may be – criminal organization, harmful drugs, theft, and violations of the law on amateur and professional sports and the law on the prevention and suppression of money laundering.

From the utilization and analysis of the evidence of the case, it emerged that:

  • the supply of equipment and raw materials was carried out from countries in Europe and Asia,
  • the trafficking of the illegal preparations was carried out through courier companies both in regions of Greece and abroad and
  • money laundering took place through bank accounts, car purchases and widespread use of cryptocurrencies.

During the searches carried out in premises maintained by the citizen, it was found that he was illegally drawing electricity for the operation of crypto-currency mining equipment, which is why he was arrested, while in addition, a number of documents, mobile phones, computers, storage media and a car were found and confiscated.

The arrested person, with the case file filed against him, was taken to the competent prosecuting authority and referred to an Investigator.
