The bags contain ballots, folders, books for the electoral committee, which they have sealedstationery, electoral rolls, circulars, relevant electoral legislation and others.
For their part, the municipalities have previous electoral contests ballot boxes and screens, while if any need arises, it will be covered by the Region of Attica.
The smooth progress of the process of preparation and distribution of electoral materials in the municipalities of Attica was supervised by the regional governor, George Patoulisduring his visit in the central distribution area of ​​the Regionin Goudi, expressing the certainty that “everything will be ready for next Sunday’s elections”.
Contribution of the Attica Region to the valid transmission of the results
The Region of Attica, as the largest self-governing organization in the country, has a decisive role and is a pivotal body both for supplying the electoral divisions of the prefecture with the necessary electoral material and for the immediate and valid transmission of the electoral results of its territorial jurisdiction.
The electoral divisions of the prefecture are provided with sufficient material to support the entire process, while the preparatory actions include the issuance of a series of administrative acts and decisions, such as the determination of the polling stations and polling stations, but also the transmission of official electoral mail to institutions, such as the courts of first instance and appeals prefecture.
Also, as already announced bythe Ministry of the Interior, judicial agents will transmit the election results to the ministry through a special application, using the Secure Results Transmission Device (SRT).
At the same time additionally, the election results they will be sent using the special information system IRIDA 2.0 through the municipalities in the regions, which will transmit them by phone to the Ministry of the Interior.
In this light, the Region of Attica has already organized and formed a team of competent officials, in order to ensure the immediate and valid transmission of the results to the Ministry of the Interior from the HELEXPO Exhibition Center.
Referring to the material that will be distributed to the 5,700 polling stations of Attica, the regional governor noted that it consists of four bags for each section, so that “every electoral representative has everything he needs”. He noted the “absolutely smooth” development of the process and expressed the certainty “that everything will be ready for next Sunday’s elections”.
“The effort for the smooth conduct of the process of the national elections is a collective effort of the Ministry of the Interior, the Region, the municipalities and the electoral representatives and other bodies”, underlined Mr. Patoulis.
