On Thursday morning, the Ministry of the Interior informed journalists about how the results will be broadcast this year.

The results will be known earlier than any other election contest with the first estimate of a safe result being announced at around 20:30. At 21:30 – 22:00 we will have the total result for 80% of the territory.

To do this, in all polling stations judicial agents will be equipped with the electronic secure transmission device SRT, which means that in real time the results will come to the Ministry of Interior and will be uploaded to the database.

A total of 21,400 polling stations have the SRT secure transmission device, to which the judicial agent will pass the results.

At the same time, the results will be relayed using the old method, that is, with classic telegrams. This has been the case since 1981 from the municipalities and the regions will arrive here and enter the base of the Ministry of the Interior.

In addition, for the first time there will be an image of people’s participation in the electoral process, as through the same device the number of people who have voted will be sent to the ministry. There will be an update on the turnout at three consecutive intervals on election day: At 10:30, at 13:00-13:30 and at 16:00-16:30.

THE Ilias Giannitsosdirector of the Singular Logic elections project, said:

“The process of collecting the results from all the polling stations is done in two ways, namely the telegram, the form used to record the results in the polling station and which is transmitted through the Municipality and the Region to the Ministry of Interior. Second method is the SRT method. As we have said with this method, when the judicial representative is able to complete the process of counting the votes at the level of combinations, in principle he fills in the paper, by pressing the ‘Send’ button it automatically reaches the election system within a few seconds”.
