The motorcycle heading towards Piraeus, overtaking, hit a mirror and ended up on top of a van, after first crashing into at least 7 vehicles
A 57-year-old motorcyclist died tragically this morning, in a traffic accident, on the beach.
According to information from Notia.gr, the traffic accident took place at the height of Alimos, specifically at the intersection of Posidonos and Kondyli, when the motorcycle heading towards Piraeus, while overtaking, hit a mirror and ended up on top of a van, after first had crashed with at least 7 vehicles, which were immobilized due to traffic. The driver, who was wearing a helmet, was killed at the scene. Due to the severe collision, the trunk of the machine came off and was thrown in the air, ending up on top of a car.
Traffic on the beach was stopped until the vehicles involved in the accident were removed.
The deputy mayor of Alimos, Giorgos Makarigakis, rushed to the scene, who in collaboration with the Kallithea Traffic Commander, Vangelis Arvalis, directed the crews of the Municipality of Alimos, to clean the road surface and restore the traffic of vehicles.
