A teacher in Tyrnavos, Mr. Konstantinos Fountas, has been looking for his missing sister for years – little Ioanna Fountas disappeared 60 years ago, when a family friend informed her parents that their child had died in a hospital in Athens, at the age of 3. 5 years old.

The shocking story

In March 1963, little Ioanna was hospitalized at the Larissa General Hospital where she was hospitalized for 5 days. Her parents were unable to continue the treatment of little Ioanna and then a family friend appeared who, being a merchant, undertook to transport her to a large hospital in Athens.

She was hospitalized there until August 1963 without her parents being informed by anyone about the course of her health. Suddenly when they start looking for their child they learn from their family friend that the child has died.

They trusted him and believed him and mourned the little girl as dead.

The years pass, Ioanna’s grandfather dies (who was also the head of the family and made the decisions) with the result that the story ends there for everyone except the mother of the little girl who is in pain and does not forget the “loss” of her child and in her mourning she burns all of Joanna’s belongings including her photographs.

Signs

Years later, Ioanna’s brother, Konstantinos Fountas, a well-known professor in Tyrnavos, learns the details of the story and begins to search for his lost sister. Apparently he doesn’t believe his sister is dead because from the initial investigation he finds out the first shocking fact that little Ioanna Fouda has been discharged from a large hospital in Athens on August 17, 1963.

The second item is that she was received by someone unknown to the family, a resident of Athens.

Three days later on August 21, 1963, her death was confirmed by a hospital doctor without immediately informing her family. The most surprising discovery is that the funeral a public expense is made to her in Athens, whereas a few days before she had received it discharge.

During his personal investigation, he finds the first obstacle since the Athens hospital stubbornly refuses for years to give him his sister’s medical file and the information about her hospitalization, her treatment and her alleged death.

This does not deter Constantinos Foudas, who continues to search for any information about his sister since he is convinced that she is alive and is the victim of some illegal act of adoption or selling her illegally to a family, perhaps even abroad.

60 years later he decided to confide this tragic story that torments him and through him TirnavosPress he hopes some trace of his sister will be found. Even a photo of her that a distant relative might have would help.
