The representative of SYRIZA announced extraordinary taxation on the excess income of businesses during the first 50 days of government. Popi Tsapanidou speaking this morning to SKAI and the “Today” show.

Referring to the announcements for the first 50 days in case SYRIZA comes to power, Mrs. Tsapanidou referred to “movements that have been announced” by Alexis Tsipras with acts of legislative content.

To the question of where the money will be found, he answered “there is an extraordinary taxation on the profits of businesses”.

“In other words, 3.5 billion euros in business taxation in the first 50 days of SYRIZA. This means the flight of investments” intervened the representative of New Democracy, Akis Schertsos.

Asked, then, to define what excess profit means, Mrs. Tsapanidou initially said that “excess profits are defined in the same way as they were defined in other European countries by the European Union and distributed to the citizens” while when asked which businesses this extraordinary taxation concerns he only said “those who have excess income, what do you want me to become AADE?”.

Regarding the taxation of dividends, he said it is not a priority because the efficiency of the measure is small.
