His discharge 70-year-old drummerwho had collaborated with a popular band in the past, for the four cases of sexual abuse of minor girls, asked the Prosecutor Seat of the Joint Jury before which the musician is tried. The Prosecutor specifically asked the judges to release the 70-year-old for the two cases due to doubts and for the other two due to the statute of limitations.

The musician is on trial for sexual acts with a minor after complaints from four women that while they were minors and during the period from 2007 to 2015, he sexually abused them at a holiday complex in the prefecture of Ilia, taking advantage of the friendly relations he had with the parents of the minors of girls.

According to the prosecutor’s office, for two of the four cases, evidence was found capable of substantiating the charge, but the acts are time-barred. For the other two, the Prosecutor said that “although it is very possible that things have happened” as complained of, they cannot be accepted with strict legal frameworks.

He stated that although the acts complained of may have taken place, strictly legally there is no full proof: “I can say that it is very likely that things happened exactly as narrated by the children, but in an objective legal context I believe that there is no full proof for all categories. There is often no logical plausibility in what they say. Maybe it’s about false memories.. As they have been told by the children (the accused) there is no consistency, plausibility and the rest of the criteria set by science to evaluate. Memory is subjective and false memories can be implanted,” said the prosecutor’s office.

At the same time, the Prosecutor in her sentencing also referred to the issue of the attitude maintained by the girls’ parents for a number of years: “The parents surpassed me, as while they were experiencing situations in the present tense, they let it pass then like that, leaving one potentially, during the judging them pedophiles, becoming a danger to other children. They weakened the evidentiary process of this trial. They leave me blank. I can’t fathom that they sit in a coffee shop and see someone with a child in a hammock and do nothing,” he said in a stern tone.

The 70-year-old has been serving a 5-year sentence in prison since last February, which was imposed on him in the second degree for a case sexual abuse of a 6-year-old girl in 2011-2013 in Oropos where the perpetrator and the victim were present with his parents. In the first instance he was sentenced to 12 years in prison and was granted probation.
