The passengers of the Olympic flight to Milos were longing, earlier in the afternoon when the plane that was operating the route Athens – Milos went off the runway during its landing at the airport of the island.
Fortunately there were no injuries and all passengers are in good health.
According to Cyclades24, the aircraft went off the runway during the landing and was found in the fields.
However, the reasons why the aircraft had an abnormal landing and the conditions under which the accident took place remain unknown.
It is worth noting that today two flights were scheduled for the airport of Milos, with one of them being delayed due to the incident.
Both the plane that crashed and the second one that was in the stage before take-off, the passengers have left.
The airline issued the following announcement about the incident:
During the flight OA 024 from Athens to Milos which is performed with an aircraft type ATR42-600, after landing and while it had slowed down and was running at a low speed for parking, due to strong lateral winds with gusts that prevailed in the airport area, meters outside the runway. After the aircraft was parked, the 20 passengers on board disembarked safely and the company took all appropriate measures to control the aircraft.
