A shocking video of the armed robbery with double-barreled guns at a jewelry store in Peraia, Thessaloniki in January 2020 came into the “light” of publicity.

The Police managed to identify a 30-year-old man for the case. As can be seen in his video thestival.gr, four hooded people enter the store and rummage through the drawers. One of them in a few minutes places the jewelry from the display cases into a black bag.

The careful investigation by police officers of the Property Crimes Department of the Thessaloniki Security Directorate, combined with the scientific analysis and utilization of the pre-investigation material, led to the identification of the details of a person involved in the armed robbery.

This is a 30-year-old Greek man, who together with his accomplices, driving a stolen vehicle, had approached the above-mentioned business in the evening hours and with their facial features covered, some of them entered its interior. There, using physical violence and holding two double-barrelled guns with sawed-off barrels, they removed jewelery and gold of great monetary value, while their accomplices, who were waiting outside, fired intimidating shots in order to prevent a possible approach of passers-by.

The police investigation revealed that the vehicle they used had been taken from the area of Kalamaria earlier and was found abandoned, after the robbery, in the area of Agia Triada, at which point it was returned to its rightful owner.

A sawn-off gun identified as one of the two used in the robbery and seven watches identified as part of the stolen items were seized from the perpetrator’s home.

It is noted that the 30-year-old man has also been involved with the police authorities in the past, for theft cases.

The file was submitted to the competent Prosecutor.
