The regulation of traffic will be done with traffic lights placed on both sides of the bridge and the responsibility of surveillance has been taken over by the Kozani Traffic Police.
The opening of the bridge was announced a day before by the regional governor Giorgos Kasapidis during a press conference.
Buses and lorries will continue to pass through bypass roads, as was the case in the past.
Maintenance work on the bridge continues, crews are working on the fifth and sixth cantilever to repair the damage.
