The University of the Aegean was evaluated in six of the 17 goals, SDG1 Zero Poverty, SDG4: Quality Education SDG5: Gender Equality SDG9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, SDG13 Climate Action and SDG17 Cooperation for the Goals
The international ranking body for university institutions Times Higher Education, published its 2023 results for the World University Rankings, titled THE University Impact Rankings. It is a pioneering evaluation of the economic and social impact of Universities based on the goals – indicators of sustainable and sustainable development of the United Nations. 11 universities from Greece participated in the ranking among 1591 universities from all over the world.
The University of the Aegean participated for the third time in this specific ranking for the achievement of sustainable development goals, managing to be ranked for its overall performance in positions 601-800 among the 1591 Universities from 112 countries that were included in the ranking and in third place among the 11 Greek Institutions that participated in this particular ranking.
The University of the Aegean was evaluated in six of the 17 goals, SDG1 Zero poverty, SDG4: Quality Education SDG5: Gender Equality SDG9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, SDG13 Climate Action and SDG17 Cooperation on the Goals.
The performance of the University of the Aegean in objective 4, which concerns quality education, was excellent, as it was ranked 83rd among the 1304 Universities that participated in the ranking of the specific sector.
Also very important was the Foundation’s performance in goal 5 regarding gender equality, ranked between 101-200 in the world, while in goal 13 regarding climate action and goal 1 regarding the fight against poverty it was ranked among 201-300 in the world.
The University of the Aegean creates and establishes a pioneer institution in matters of sustainability and sustainable development, through its daily operation in the sensitive area of ​​the Aegean, produces work related to and responds daily to the global challenges of education and research.
