The Medical Association of Athens on the occasion of the statement of the member of parliament of Evia with the ND, Spyros Pneumatikosissued a statement in which it clarifies that “doctors are fighting, until the end, to save the patient’s life and ensure a good quality of life.”

“The Medical Association of Athens on the occasion of the matter, which was created due to the incorrect statements made by its member and in fact, with high scientific competence, we clarify that the doctors provide the patient with the best possible treatment, at every stage of the progression of the disease and they fight to the end to save his life.

Especially, for end-stage oncological patients, a greater investment should be made in the Health System, to ensure a good quality of life, with the creation of end-stage hospices and palliative care”.

The president of ISA, Giorgos Patoulis in his statement says:

“The doctor makes an effort, until the end, to ensure the patient’s health and longevity. He utilizes all the means at his disposal and provides him with the therapeutic possibilities, which will keep hope alive and offer him a better quality of life.”
