With meanings and the use of Google Translate, a woman from Albania managed to alert the police that her husband and his brother were chasing her.

According to information from Cretalive, the woman, 39 years old, who was with her minor child, 12 years old, was chased by her 43-year-old husband, also from Albania, with his 46-year-old brother and they tried to force them into the car .

Eventually, the two men were arrested.

The incident took place in Platanias, Chania on Thursday and what happened is described in his post by the Secretary of the Union of Police Officers of Chania, Mr. Stelios Seliniotakis.

Specifically, he states: “Another shift ended today a little while ago…another shift that came to remind me why I love this job! Congratulations to my baristas, who with our vigilance this afternoon, solved a crime of domestic violence in the act. Specifically, in a village inland of Chania, patrolling with my team, we spotted a vehicle moving suspiciously and decided to check it.

This particular vehicle developed speed and did not stop. After a few meters with our 2 patrol vehicles we stopped the above suspicious car. Inside it were a family of three foreigners and one more of their relatives.

At that moment the woman showed us with signs, but also with the use of Google translate by us as she did not speak Greek, that she was being beaten all day, both she and her child and the 2 foreign men, who were also arrested.

The continuation was given at the Chania Police Station and specifically at the Domestic Violence Office by the excellent Commander Eleni Viglaki.

The patient and the little child thanked us warmly, as we were in the right place at the right time, while she herself, as she characteristically said, could not have imagined the development that her today’s ordeal would have.
