“With the almost 4,000 appointments, we have reached 28,500 permanent teachers in four years. For 12 years, from 2008 to 2020, every year thousands of teachers retired but no one was appointed. The basic policy of the government of Kyriakos Mitsotakis is to gradually leave the status of deputy. We want solid educational ties. That’s why we invested in strengthening the human resources of education”, said Niki Kerameos, the former Minister of Education and ND parliamentary candidate, to SKAI and the show “Morning” with Giorgos Autias.

“From 1-1-2024 there will be an increase in teachers’ salaries. Another initiative that aims to strengthen the human resources of education”, added Ms. Kerameos, emphasizing that there will be other initiatives to strengthen education, “such as the further strengthening of model schools. Another 138 model schools have been launched.”

Referring to the elections of June 25, Ms. Kerameos underlined that “we have a very crucial contest on June 25. This ballot box is empty, it must be filled again from the beginning. The result of May 21st is very important, it is a very positive reflection of the work of the government of Mr. Mitsotakis, but the ballot box of June 25th is a new ballot box. It must be filled again and it is very important that all citizens go to vote.”

“The citizen is the one who will judge what percentage he wants to give to any government,” he added.

Asked about the possibility of changing Article 16 on Universities, Ms. Kerameos replied that it is the ND’s fixed position that the possibility of establishing non-profit higher education institutions is also a permanent position. Just as you can choose a public hospital or a private one, a public school or a private one, you can also choose a public or private University. If and as long as Greek men and women renew their trust in ND, the revision of the Constitution is among the goals of Kyriakos Mitsotakis. Among the proposed regulations, to be revised, will be article 16 of the Constitution”.
