What the Archbishop of Crete and the President of SYRIZA said in front of the cameras
A meaningful dialogue was the one that the Archbishop of Crete, Evgenios, had in front of the cameras with the president of SYRIZA, Alexis Tsipras, in the Archdiocese of Crete, where Mr. Tsipras went during his visit to Heraklion, continuing his tour of the island.
Starting the discussion, the Archbishop emphatically noted that it is not a luxury to be united for the common good while he appeared very upset with “notions that divide our people. No one can use faith! Away with patriotism, away…”, he said characteristically on the occasion of what the Archbishop of Athens, Ieronymos, recently mentioned.
“If Christ made a party, I don’t want to be a Christian, not an Archbishop… Let’s leave that and see how we can all contribute from our side for the common good. Since you came to hear me, you will hear me. Not I will sing them to you”, he emphasized to receive the answer of the President of SYRIZA “It would be my pleasure to hear you sing…”. And he immediately received the Archbishop’s invitation “Come on a Great Friday…”!
Mr. Evgenios congratulated Alexis Tsipras on the selection of the SYRIZA candidates in Heraklion, while he spoke with particular warmth about Vice-Admiral Evangelos Apostolakis, whom he described as a “brother”…
