The continuation of the trial for the brutal murder of Caroline Crouchs in September was decided by the Joint Court of Appeal denying the suspension of the proceedings through the resignation of the accused Babis Anagnostopoulos from his appeal.

The appellants having judged that the 35-year-old pilot cannot at this stage, when the appellate trial is in progress, to waive his appealappointed new lawyers for the accused after the resignation of his two defenders.

Subsequently, they set a new hearing for the continuation of the September 12th procedureso that the advocates appointed ex officio have time to study the case file.

At the same time, they ordered that the defendant appear before the court in the trial they set.

Anagnostopoulos is sentenced in the first degree to life for the murder of his wife and 11.5 years in prison for the killing of their puppy and his attempt to mislead the authorities by stating that the brutal crime in Glyka Nera was the result of a robbery after a murder.
