The 56-year-old man was taken to the psychiatric clinic of the Chania Hospital, who on Thursday afternoon drummed in his house and threatened to blow everything up.

The 56-year-old barricaded himself in his home when police officers tried to arrest him after an arrest warrant which was issued by the Prosecutor’s Office of Chania, after earlier on Thursday morning he had threatened prosecutors and court officials.

Police officers from the Kissamos Department went to his house to arrest him. The 56-year-old came out of the house holding one in one hand knife and in the other a stick of dynamite and then drummed.

After many hours of negotiations and a raid by the EKAM special team was arrested. In fact, he strongly resisted when the police tried to immobilize him, as a result of which he was slightly injured.

Information indicates that the 56-year-old is facing psychiatric problems, however, in recent days he has not been following his treatment.

Yes, as it turned out the sticks of dynamite were fake, while the police found in his house a replica gun, a knife and a small amount of cannabis weighing 15 grams.

The 56-year-old faces the charges of disrupting the operation of the service, violence against employees, possession of drugs, illegal carrying of weapons and use of weapons and was taken to the Chania Psychiatric Hospital for evaluation.
