Two citizens (a 30-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman), as well as a 36-year-old foreigner, were arrested yesterday by police officers of the Drug Prosecution Department of the Rhodes Security Sub-Directorate, as well as a 36-year-old foreigner against whom a case file was filed for supply-trafficking of narcotics, possession of weapons and antiquities, as the case may be .

In particular, the day before yesterday afternoon in the context of regular targeted checks by a team of police officers, with the assistance of a specially trained drug detection dog, a suspicious package was detected in a transport company and placed under discretionary surveillance. Yesterday morning the two local perpetrators went to the company with I.X.E. car and when the 30-year-old proceeded to receive the package, police officers handling the case intervened and immobilized him.

It was found that the parcel contained:

• Cocaine weighing 155 grams

• Processed cannabis (in chocolate form) weighing 194.9 grams

• Raw hemp weighing 1 kg and 231 grams.

During the course of the case, evidence emerged of the foreigner’s involvement in drug trafficking and he was brought before him. Further in the possession of the 30-year-old and in a search of his residence were found:

• Processed cannabis (in chocolate form) weighing 15.8 grams

• Raw cannabis weighing 4.6 grams

• Precision electronic scale

• Military weapon cartridges and casings

• Knifes, knives and folding iron glop

• Mobile phones, Ancient currency and 5,870 euros

Those arrested will be taken to the District Court of Rhodes. The investigation of the case is part of the special operational actions of the Police Services of the South Aegean to combat the spread of drugs.
