The electoral process in Crete has been progressing normally and without any reported problems since 7 am, specifically in the Regional Unit of Chania, the Regional Unit of Heraklion and the Regional Unit of Lassithi.

According to the APE-MPE, in the Regional Unit of Heraklion, the process is progressing normally in the total of 575 electoral divisions and the 13 divisions of non-residents, in which the total voters amount to 259,875 people.

According to the deputy governor of Heraklion, Nikos Syrigonakis, who stated that no problem has been observed so far, pointing out: While 31 parties participated in the elections on May 21, “in these elections for the Regional Unity, 27 parties declared their participation, one withdrew and two ultimately did not produce ballots, so voters receive 24 party ballots.”

Everything is going smoothly, as far as the electoral process is concerned and in the Lassithi regional unit. In the 175 polling stations and the four polling stations for non-residents, as noted by APE-MPE, the Deputy Governor of Lasithi, Yiannis Androulakis, everything is going without any problems, while an increased turnout of voters is observed during the first hours of the election process.

The electoral process in Chania is also progressing smoothly, with the only issue that has arisen in these elections as well, being the deficiencies in the composition of the electoral commissions, without, however, hindering the smooth flow of the process.

In Chania, the polling stations for the 143,879 citizens who have the right to vote are the same as in the previous elections, i.e. 338.

There are eight hetero-resident divisions, (five pure and three mixed).

In the elections in the Regional Unit of Chania, 24 parties have filed combinations and there are 86 candidate MPs.

Six parties have a full composition with six candidates. Five have five candidates, three have four, one has three candidates, one party has two candidates and eight have one MP candidate.
