A motorcycle rally in the center of Thessaloniki was held a while ago by workers in the delivery sector for occupational accidents, on the occasion of the traffic accident that their colleague had at noon in Tsimiski.

The road trip started symbolically from the point where the distributor lost his life. The distributors moved to the building of the Ministry of Macedonia Thrace, in order to express their protest to the state bodies for the insufficient, as they characterize, measures to protect the workers.

Shocking distributor: “We don’t know if we will return home at night”

Chrysovalantis Papadopoulos, vice-president of the Self-Employed Distributors Association of Thessaloniki, made a shocking statement of emotions at the spot where the tragedy occurred at noon on Tsimiski Street.

“We gamble our lives with dice. We leave home in the morning and we don’t know if we will return in the evening” he said emotionally charged, expressing his condolences to the relatives of the distributor who lost his life on the asphalt.

“We count 61 dead distributors. We ask the state to help our profession with laws. The self-employed must have an equal relationship with the platforms and not be exploited,” noted Mr. Papadopoulos, stressing that the mobilizations of his colleagues will continue.
