In one “unexplained death” he mentioned, in his testimony in the Joint Jury Court that is trying the Rula Pispirigouthe cardiologist of the “Panagiotis and Aglaia Kyriakou” Children’s Hospital, Stylianos Steiropouloswho examined Georgina two days before concluding from the setback she suffered on 29 January 2022.

The witness was clear in his testimony that the child he did not develop a cardiac problem in the tests carried out, stressing that no disease was detected that could result in a risk of sudden death.

As the doctor noted, on January 27, 2022, he examined Georgina, at the request of his pediatrician colleagues at the hospital: “Georgina’s cardiac examination was done and in general everything was normal. We heard an innocent snort. A cardiogram was done, it had a normal rhythm, an ultrasound of the heart was done and it was normal.”

At the same time, as the witness testified, he asked the mother to show him the episodes of bradycardia Georgina had and she showed him a video she had. “I actually saw the monitor on video. From this I concluded that the device (pacemaker) was working normally,” he said.

When asked by the president if the episodes of bradycardia are explained cardiologically, the witness replied:

“Cardiologically no. I had to find out if the heart had something. There was no cardiac cause, disease from which there is a risk of sudden death. The heart was fortified with a defibrillator, he was receiving proper treatment, it was a surprise to us that he died on Saturday.”

He also pointed out that he declares with confidence that the fatal stop, in Aglaia Kyriakou, which the child suffered “was not of cardiac cause”.

The witness testified that scientifically, based on the cardiological data on the day of Georgina’s death, he cannot give answers about what happened.

Chairman: Can you somehow explain what happened until 2:30 in the afternoon?

Witness: No I can not.

Chairman: What happened refer a doctor somewhere? Is it a manifestation of some rare, for example, heart disease?

Witness: No. I can’t explain it cardiologically. Death is inexplicable.

Earlier, the cardiologist reported that in a telephone conversation he had with the head of the Children’s ICU of the University Hospital of Patras, Andreas Iliadishad decided to change Georgina’s hypertension medication to a more appropriate medication.
