Watering is good, but spraying is even better
Maybe you like the heat or you are one of those people who can withstand hot conditions. Your logic tells you that if you stay at home wearing cool clothes, drinking enough water and hydrating your body you will be fine. But what do your plants think?
Because while you are inside your cool living room and taking care of the hydration of your body, they are logically on the balcony and desperately asking for help. But don’t worry, even if you don’t know what to do here you will see how to help them stay alive and safe on the hottest days.
Be careful with watering

You have found ways to hydrate yourself. You should do the same for your plants. Plants are likely to need more water now in summer, especially in hot conditions. Their leaves dry out and warmer temperatures cause the soil to dry out faster.
Fill your watering can and check often if your plants need watering. But remember that you should only water them when they need it. You definitely don’t want to drown them in water and let them rot!
Be careful with direct light

We have said other times about the importance of direct and indirect sunlight. Although many plants need some light to survive, keeping them in direct sunlight—especially during a heatwave—is not a good idea. For this reason, the most sensitive plants should be moved to the shade. There are also several plants that can thrive in shadier places.

If you have a lot of plants it is a good idea to spray them during the day. This way you will definitely keep them cool and they will not miss the humidity that some people love so much.
Of course, each plant has its own needs and it’s good to know what those are before you decide to get one. It goes without saying that before you decide to leave home for your summer vacation you should also have a plan for how your plants will stay alive!
