The “Astroparty” will be set up in the square of the White Tower, in Thessaloniki, where passers-by will have the opportunity to observe the planet Mars, “Venus”, the Moon, as well as bright nebulae through telescopes.

“The planet Mars will be something very special to see because we don’t have the opportunity to observe it with the naked eye. Also, in the summer, there are bright nebulae, which if any are clearly visible, people will have the opportunity to see them through the telescope,” the president of the Friends of Astronomy Group, Theodoros Mattas, told GRTimes.gr.

According to the president of the Friends of Astronomy Group, around 10 telescopes will be placed at the aforementioned point, while observers will be able to see the craters and ravines of the Moon. “It is an activity that has been taking place in recent years almost every year, in various parts of Thessaloniki and it will be open and free of charge.

The Astroparty is organized by the Friends of Astronomy Group, in collaboration with the Municipality of Thessaloniki and will start at 21:00 pm. on Friday (6/28) and will end at midnight.
