ELAS arrested 30 foreigners during a multi-day police operation to identify, arrest and deport people belonging to criminal groups (gangs committing crimes against property, drug trafficking, etc.).
The operation, which was planned and implemented by the Athens Security Directorate, took place from 5-6-2023 to 29-6-2023 in the wider center of Athens and was developed in the areas of Agios Panteleimon, Kallithea, Acropolis, Kypseli, of Omonia and Patisia.
The 30 foreigners arrested during the operation lacked the necessary documents for their legal stay in the country and the measure of administrative deportation was applied against them.
According to ELAS, the arrested were located after an analysis of crime in individual areas of the center of Athens, where repeated criminal acts had been observed by marked individuals belonging to core criminal groups.
